<p>Heather attended this year's <a href="http://www.londonbookfair.co.uk/">London Book Fair</a> at Earl's Court, with her Naughty Paris Guide presented in the <a href="http://www.londonbookfair.co.uk/page.cfm/Link=176/t=m">New Title Showcase</a>.</p>
<p><span class="full-image-float-right ssNonEditable"><span><img src="../../storage/london/bordello_lbf/LondonBookFair2.jpg?__SQUARESPACE_CACHEVERSION=1240422636309" alt="" width="209" height="279" /></span></span></p>
<p>Despite the fears that the recession would mean a very quiet fair, almost every stand seemed to be packed full of industry professionals making deals. Unlike BookExpo America, it's not at all a "free book free-for-all" and the feel is much less of a commercial frenzy. One noteworthy book available was John Grant's <a href="http://greenormal.blogspot.com/">"Green Marketing Manifesto"</a>, who led a&nbsp; seminar on the same topic. Lots of great ideas in there!</p>
<p><span class="full-image-float-left ssNonEditable"><span><img src="http://www.naughtyparisguide.com/storage/london/bordello_lbf/LondonBookFair8.jpg?__SQUARESPACE_CACHEVERSION=1240423410715" alt="" width="200" height="267" /></span></span>There were a few other authors at LBF, including the vegetarian cookbook author and astrologist <a href="http://www.roseelliot.com/">Rose Elliot</a> (she gave chart readings from her book "Life Cycles").</p>
<p><span class="full-image-float-right ssNonEditable"><span><img src="http://www.naughtyparisguide.com/storage/london/bordello_lbf/LondonBookFair7.jpg?__SQUARESPACE_CACHEVERSION=1240422713528" alt="" width="229" height="305" /></span></span></p>
<p>Promoting the coffee table book "<a href="http://www.laurelandhardy.org/newbible.html">Laurel and Hardy, the Sound Shorts"</a> and its <a href="http://www.printondemand-worldwide.com">Print-on-Demand publisher</a>, were dead ringers for Laurel and Hardy (they entertained the crowds with magic tricks).</p>
<p><span class="full-image-float-left ssNonEditable"><span><img src="http://www.naughtyparisguide.com/storage/london/bordello_lbf/LondonBookFair6.jpg?__SQUARESPACE_CACHEVERSION=1240422698402" alt="" width="144" height="264" /></span></span></p>
<p>Italian novelist <a href="http://www.umbertoeco.com/en/">Umberto Eco</a> was a guest speaker at the PEN Literary Caf&eacute;, describing his multi-tasking style of writing: "When I have an article due the next morning, I work on my novel. It's good to do what you're not supposed to be doing, like literary adultery. The article still gets done in the end."</p>
<p><span class="full-image-float-right ssNonEditable"><span><img src="http://www.naughtyparisguide.com/storage/london/bordello_lbf/LondonBookFair5.jpg?__SQUARESPACE_CACHEVERSION=1240422682413" alt="" width="226" height="169" /></span></span></p>
<p>Finally, the show was not without dissenters. One miffed freelance translator made a silent protest outside Earls Court.</p>
<p><strong>Naughty Paris is now carried in the UK at <a href="http://www.bordello-london.co.uk/">Bordello</a>, a luxury lingerie and interior decor boutique in the trendy Shoreditch district of London. - page 13, rubrique "Culture". </span></p>
