Sushi Love

How sexy is sushi? Perhaps that all depends on whose naked body is being used as the serving platter. Playboy TV filmed an episode about the Japanese trend of Naked Sushi, or eating sushi off the body of a naked woman, for their series 69 Sexy things 2 Do Before You Die, and in Sex & the City film, Samantha arranged a hand-rolled sushi feast for Smith on Valentine's Day (too bad his late arrival left her cold and the sushi warm).
However, none of the dishes prepared at Sushi Love, Paris' latest sushi purveyor, are served on naked bodies. So what's the gimmick? How is Love Sushi different than any other sushi restaurant? Perhaps it's all in the attitude. After all, what better way to get in the right mood than by ordering "Maki Love Passion", "Suave", "French Love", or Madness Love" from the menu? Wouldn't you rather feed your amoureux "Sexy Rolls" and "Kiss Rolls" than the traditional maki rolls (even if they're one and the same)?
The "Italie" boutique in the 13th, between the Jardin des Plantes and Chinatown, is painted purple, with women's magazines to peruse while waiting and a big screen TV in case your date is a bore. If you opt for delivery, it won't (sadly) be delivered in this Lovemobile; it would never make it through traffic as quickly as a scooter. A second "Les Halles" location is more central, just off the Jardins du Palais Royal.
The real test, of course, is in the taste, and here they don't fail. Fresh, tasty, high quality. And you can get a whole maki/sushi feast for two (including drinks) for just €28 (order the "Flirt" menu). A suivre...
